Voice Lessons for Kids in Los Angeles — Built by a Voice Alum
⭐ Author of The Vocal Win Book — Amazon #1 New Release in Voice · NBC The Voice Alum
If your kid loves to sing but doesn’t have a teacher who actually gets them, you’re in the right place. I’m Samuel “Sammy C” Picou. I sang on NBC’s The Voice Season 5 at age 16, and I’ve spent the last decade teaching kids ages 6 to 16 how to find their real voice — the one underneath the nerves, the giggles, and the “I can’t do it.”
Families across Los Angeles — from Pasadena to Santa Monica, Sherman Oaks to Long Beach, Hollywood to Culver City — use my video series to give their kids real vocal training without driving to a studio. It’s not karaoke. It’s not “fun voice games.” It’s the same fundamentals I learned on a national stage, broken down for young singers.
Why LA moms choose this program over traditional studios
You already know LA traffic. Driving your kid from Studio City or Burbank to a weekly 30-minute voice lesson — then sitting in the parking lot, then driving home — turns into a 2-hour ordeal for what amounts to a half-hour of singing. And for many LA families, the “name” voice studios in Beverly Hills or West Hollywood charge $80–$150 per session, often with a teacher who’s never sung professionally on a national platform.
My approach is different. The Level 1 video series gives your kid lifetime access to a structured curriculum they can practice at home, on their own pace, in 15-minute daily sessions. No commute. No pressure of being “on” in front of a stranger. And the entire program is taught by someone who’s stood on the same stage many of these kids dream about.
What’s actually in the Level 1 video series
- Breath foundations — the single biggest difference between a kid who sounds nervous and a kid who sounds confident.
- Pitch matching games designed for ages 6–16 that don’t feel like drills.
- Range expansion exercises calibrated for young voices (we don’t push range before the foundation is in).
- “Performance brain” — how to stop your kid from freezing the moment someone is watching.
- 14-day starter plan so you know exactly what to do each day.

Frequently asked questions
Do you teach in person anywhere in LA?
The video series is fully online and self-paced, which is what works best for most LA families given commute realities. If you’re in Glendale, Manhattan Beach, the San Fernando Valley, or anywhere across LA County, you can start today. For families who want one-on-one live mentorship, the Level 3 program includes live calls.
My kid is shy / has stage fright. Will this work?
That’s literally the most common kid I work with. The video format actually helps shy kids, because they can practice without an audience until they’re ready. By week 3, most parents tell me their kid is singing freely around the house. By week 6 they’re asking to do the school talent show.
What if we don’t have any music background?
Perfect. The program assumes zero prior training. No piano needed. No music theory. Just your kid and the videos.
How is this different from YouTube tutorials?
YouTube tutorials are written for adult voices, scattered, and unstructured. This is a single sequenced curriculum built specifically for young voices, with a clear path from “can barely match a pitch” to “can confidently sing a song in front of family.”
How much does it cost?
Level 1 is currently $39 for new students (regularly $79). That’s roughly the cost of one in-person lesson at most LA studios, for a full curriculum your kid can use as long as they want.
